Raiders report card: Acing the final series enough for a passing (and running) grade |
PASS OFFENSE: B-minus
Let’s get the bad out of the way first. Three of the Raiders’ four turnovers came on pass plays — two interceptions by Derek Carr and a lost fumble by Darren Waller. Carr slightly underthrew Nelson Agholor on a post (Agholor may or may not have had a chance to catch it, being that a Denver defender had early contact). But when it mattered, Carr delivered his 21st fourth-quarter comeback and finished 24 of 38 for a season-high 371 yards and third-down touchdown strikes to Waller (28 yards) and Bryan Edwards (26 yards). He threaded a two-point conversion pass for to Waller for the game-winner. Zay Jones came through with a 37-yard catch on the game-winning drive. Waller finished with nine receptions for 117 yards. Theo Riddick had four catches for 40 yards. Carr’s average completion was 15.5 yards.

RUN OFFENSE: B-short
Exactly when it appeared to be reasonable to abandon the run as the subsequent half started, Josh Jacobs had his most beneficial game since the last time the Looters played the Mustangs at home on Nov. 15. He had only six conveys for 12 yards at halftime, yet 77 yards on nine conveys in the subsequent half to get done with 89 yards on 15 conveys. He had a score runs of 28 yards and 1 yard — with the subsequent score going ahead fourth-and-objective from the 1. Devontae Booker had 16 yards on five conveys. Taking all things together, the Pillagers had 84 yards on 14 conveys with the two scores in the subsequent half and Jacobs had his second consecutive 1,000 or more yard season.
PASS Guard: D
Drew Lock may has well have been Drew Brees or Drew Bledsoe as he finished 25 of 41 passes for 339 yards, two scores and no captures. A similar Lock who turned it more than five times (counting four captures) against the Pillagers in the primary gathering and entered the game with 14 score passes and 15 block attempts. Jerry Jeudy got free for a 92-yard catch-and-run score that put the Marauders down 31-24 and looked as though it would reflect the colossal late-game missteps against Miami and the Chargers that fixed their destruction. Lamarcus Joyner, Raekwon McMillan, Jeff Heath and Daryl Worley were credited with passes defensed. Nicholas Morrow and Maxx Crosby were credited with sacks.
RUN Guard: C-in addition to
It appeared to be more terrible than it was, as the Horses arrived at the midpoint of just 3.8 yards per convey (32 endeavors, 122 yards) with Melvin Gordon driving the path with 26 endeavors and 93 yards and a 10-yard score run that put Denver up 24-17 with 14:54 left in the game. Morrow, who fell off the Coronavirus save list, driven the Pillagers with 10 handles. The Marauders don't frequently enough play on the opposite side of the line as far as handles for misfortunes on running plays. They had three against the Mustangs. Denver got done with five hurrying first downs. Johnathan Hankins had seven helped handles and did some harm in the center. There was a slight uptick in Cory Littleton's play after he returned from the Coronavirus hold list.

Unique Groups: B-in addition to
Maxx Crosby obstructed two field objective endeavors, one from a strange 70 yards and the finale from 63. Hello, it's Denver, you never know. Spot kicker Daniel Carlson kicked a 33-yard field objective, made all his additional focuses and completed the season as the Marauders' single-season record holder with 142 focuses and ended up driving the NFL in scoring. That implies the Plunderers kicked too many field objectives instead of scores however Carlson took care of his responsibility to say the very least. Tracker Renfrow's 21-yard punt return late in the principal half to the Thieves' 44-yard was an introduction to a drive which prompted Carr's TD pass to Edwards. Punter A.J. Cole had a 41.8 net normal and put two balls inside the 20-yard line. Denver recipient Diontae Spencer found the middle value of 16 yards on a couple of punt returns, which is a lot for Rich Bisaccia's preferring.
Instructing: C-in addition to
Difficult to assemble up an excess of energy when a group turns the ball more than four times without any takeaways and gets hit with 14 punishments. Still have no clue about how the Marauders continue getting beat protectively on large plays downfield when playing in zone plans which should stop the simple plays and keep major parts before them. Mentor Jon Gruden, perhaps the most obstinate men alive, wouldn't surrender the run notwithstanding six rounds of battle and afterward out of nowhere Jacobs wakes up in the subsequent half. Without those hurrying additions, the Bandits don't dominate the match. The Bandits' evidently traditionalist assault additionally dialed up a third-and-2 28-yard TD strike to Waller and a third-and-15 26-yard TD to Edwards as opposed to taking the more limited increase for a closer field objective endeavor.
